Sharon's House of Care - FAQ
1. Do you provide personal care or supervision?
No. We offer independent shared-living housing only. We do not provide personal care, medical support, behavioral monitoring, or supervision.
2. Who is a good fit for your home?
Adults who are:
- Fully independent
- Able to manage their own daily needs
- Able to live safely with others
- Stable, sober, and cooperative
- Not in need of ongoing care or monitoring
3. Who is not a fit?
Our home is not appropriate for individuals who:
- Require personal care, ADL assistance, or medication management
- Have aggressive or disruptive behaviors
- Have unmanaged mental health conditions
- Wander, elope, or require supervision
- Are actively using drugs or alcohol
- Are unsafe to themselves or others
4. What do you provide?
We provide:
- A clean, safe, stable home
- A structured shared-living environment
- Private or shared bedroom options
- Common areas, kitchen, and household basics
- A peaceful, respectful atmosphere
We do not provide services.
5. Do you accept seniors?
Yes, as long as they are fully independent and able to live safely without assistance.
6. Do you accept individuals coming from hospitals, rehab, or reentry programs?
Yes, if they meet all independence criteria and do not require care, supervision, or behavioral support.
7. What is required to apply?
Applicants (or their referral source) must confirm:
- Independence with daily living
- No behavioral issues
- No supervision needs
- No recent aggression or hospital “returns” due to behavior
- Ability to live peacefully with others
We may request documentation or discharge summaries when needed.
8. How long is the waitlist?
Waitlist times vary. You can join the list online, and we will contact you when a room becomes available.
9. What is the cost?
Rates depend on room type and availability. Pricing includes housing only.
10. Can family members visit?
Yes, respectful visits are allowed. We maintain quiet hours and a calm environment for everyone living in the home.
11. Are meals or transportation included?
No. Each individual is responsible for their own meals, transportation, medications, and personal needs.Meal plans are available at an additional cost.
